Timothy Ellis
The LAMP Director has been active in developing youth music activities for over 30 years. Ellis has since developed numerous opportunities for young people to develop as musicians through mainstream, further and (most prominently) alternative education.
As consultant he has also been instrumental in helping other organisations to create youth music provision in Rugby, Daventry, Towcester, Leamington Spa, Warwick and numerous rural settings.
He founded Hybrid Arts (which became LAMP) in 2003 which secured Arts Council funding to create ‘Indestructible Music Club’ for young people. The club was quoted by Warwickshire Youth Service as having the highest regional audience turnout for youth music events!
Both Hybrid Arts and LAMP were created around a staple diet / provision of high quality music education for some of the most vulnerable young people in (or out of) society. Both companies have won national awards in recognition of the successful methodology for transformative work with young people.
Ellis first performed in public age 7 playing spinet in a small trio, as an early teen he trained in a collegiate choir and made his first record. Fast forward to 1987 and his band recorded two sessions for the John Peel show on BBC Radio 1 followed by numerous tours of Europe including a trip beyond the Berlin wall. He trained in Composing for Moving Image at Beaconsfield Film & Television School.
As well as being a multi-instrumentalist, Ellis is a prolific composer of contemporary abstract electronic music, dub reggae and fakepop. His 1986 post punk outfit Jackdaw with Crowbar is still going to this day.

Simon Lewis
Hi. I'm a music producer and music technology teacher at Leamington LAMP. I teach a Music Technology qualification at Level 1 and 2 where students gain knowledge in all aspects of music production, mixing skills and musicianship skills.
I have been teaching music production skills for over 10 years and making music personally for over 15 years. I have taught music production sessions for Solihull Borough Council, Access to Music in Birmingham, was part of a live theatre performance called the Urban Orchestra which combined an orchestra with electronic music, and also run studio and music production sessions from my own personal studio in Birmingham.
I have very good knowledge of most of the popular DAWS which means I can teach students any program which they feel most comfortable with. The main genres of music I have experience with producing is soul/R&B, house and hip hop.

Music has been an integral part of my life for as long as I can remember but my career as a musician truly started when I joined the Indestructible Music Club as a teenager. Having the opportunity to play live gigs and meet working musicians set me up perfectly to study music at Warwickshire College and then further education at BIMM Brighton. Since completing my education I have worked as a teacher, played in live bands, and continued writing my own music and honing my craft. I now work full time teaching music at LAMP and I play drums in Midlands based metal band Megaloceros.

His music taste is varied but it was his love hip hop and sampling that developed his desire to explore, experience and appreciate music in a very diverse way.
Luke has a personal story of how music has genuinely saved his life on at least 3 occasions. He is a great believer in the power of music (and creativity in general) to change paradigms, to explore/reflect on our personal journeys and as a tool to give voice to the voiceless.
When asked to be involved in this project he said “I would be silly not to, what an opportunity we can offer the youth in our community, sign me up”.
